Terms of Endearment

How archaic are the Terms of Endearment, left over from the 1920s! How “Dear” is someone you know casually or not at all? And how many hours can you save by not having to decide whether you are “sincere”, “true”, “cordial”, “respectful”, “warm”, et cetera? Leave them out!

I think we live in a cold society and that endearment is what we need. I say leave them in Honey!

You can be warm without wasting space (and time) using words that sound old, at best, and patronizing, at worst. And don't call me "honey"! I may be sweet, but I'm not a bee's spit-up!
